WHAT'S ON AT BHHC

Wednesday lunchtimes at 1 PM

Lunch & Learn 

Join Rabbi Rader each Wednesday lunchtime at 1 PM (1 o'clock) at Brighton & Hove Hebrew Congregation for a weekly Wednesday discussion group. Topics are released the previous Friday and cover a broad variety of Kosher subjects, often relating to contemporary life.

​

This week's topic is: "To Live is To Give".

​

The cost is £7.50 and includes a light lunch. Please book through the Shul office, contact details for which are found at the bottom of every page on the BHHC website.

Combat anti-semitism with PRO-Semitism

Join us this Friday 20 February 2026 at 10.20 AM for an uplifting 20-minutes celebrating our unique Jewish identity through a short Torah insight, a Prayer, and a Moment of Giving. 

 

​​Join Rabbi Rader in the BHHC synagogue for a 10.30 start, followed by coffee and chat in Yofi restaurant (formerly "Novellino").

​

In these challenging times, let's celebrate and strengthen our Jewish identity.

Shabbat 21 February 2026 

Special Guest Chazan!

Join us on Shabbat 21 February for a special guest Chazan appearance by Chazan Avromi Freilich of Hampstead Garden Subrub Synagogue. 

​

Chazan Avromi Freilich will lead the Musaf service and will be accompanied by his family choir.

​

This promises to be a most uplifting and joyous addition to our regular Shabbat Shacharit service. To experience Chazan Avromi Freilich's melodic singing and charismatic presence is a great joy, so please make a note to come to Shul for what will be a truly uplifting Shabbat service. 

​

The service will finish at the usual time.

Hot Kiddush!

Join us on Shabbat 21 February for another installment of the popular Hot Kiddush! 

​

Featuring your favourite hot Shabbat dishes like Cholent and Kugel, our Hot Kiddush will bring you together with the congregation and warm you up for the walk back home.

​

The Hot Kiddush this Shabbat 21 February is kindly sponsored by Debra and Robert Sinclair and special gateaux are kindly sponsored by Reena Joseph on the occasion of her birthday.

Weekdays after Shacharit

Shiur after Shacharit

Join Rabbi Rader for a shiur after Shacharit (the daily prayer service in the morning) every weekday morning, from Monday to Friday. Current times for Shacharit are listed on the Shabbat & Service Times page. 

​

Light refreshments including tea and coffee are served. 

​

There is no charge for this Shiur. Please let the BHHC shul office know by phone or email if you would like to join.

Megillat Esther reading

Join us at Brighton & Hove Hebrew Congregation as we commence the festival of Purim. 

​

We open the festival of Purim with our traditional evening Megillah reading. This is on Monday 2 March at 6.15 PM in the BHHC synagogue. 

​

Tuesday 3 March 2026 @ 7.00 AM

Shacharit & Megillat Esther reading

Join us at Brighton & Hove Hebrew Congregation for a special Shacharit service and Megillah reading on Tuesday 3 March at 7.00 AM.

Shacharit will be at 7 AM and will be followed by the Megillah reading at 7.40 AM. â€‹â€‹

Tuesday 3 March 2026 @ 11.20 AM

Late-Morning Megillah reading

Join us at Brighton & Hove Hebrew Congregation for a special late-morning megillah reading on Tuesday 3 March at 11.20 AM. 

​

The late morning reading will be followed by our annual communal Purim meal! This starts at 12.20 PM. 

​

The cost is £10 and includes three courses plus wine!
